Skills and Educational Requirements
Minimum qualifications for the position of Outreach Support Technician require that you have 2 years of College, 1 year of ABA experience and mastery of Level I Behavior Technician skills, which can be demonstrated at time of interview or by providing a video taped session with current client (with approval from client). Bachelor’s Degree, additional years of experience, outside training in ABA or previous training through Step By Step Academy will be taken into consideration when determining starting salary.

Summary of Position Responsibilities and Duties

Primary job responsibility is to support the family and home program staff in program and procedural training when implementing said programs per the child’s Step By Step Academy treatment goals. Work with children with autism in the home during overlap sessions with other team members to provide accurate demonstration of program implementation, data collection and procedural application. Receive 1:1 supervision from the Outreach Supervisor and the Training Coordinator/Behavior Plan Specialist through meetings, observation and/or videos.

The Full-Time Outreach Support Technician Position:

  • Is a regular full-time, exempt status position, averaging 32 hours per week.
  • Reports directly to the Outreach Supervisor.
  • Averages a caseload of 6 clients who attend SBSA.
  • Will provide an average of 4-5 hours per week in each child’s home.
  • Follows the SBSA yearly 46-week schedule with paid holiday leave after 30 days of service.
  • Will be paid per hour as identified in the Outreach Support Technician contract.
  • Will be paid for mileage at .30 cents per mile, and for drive time at their hourly rate when the employee leaves the center to travel to a client’s home or when traveling from one client’s home to another.
  • Will be paid according to the SBSA pay schedule, which is bi-weekly. Work performed during the pay period will be paid on the 2nd Friday following the end of a pay period.
  • Is an employee of SBSA and the SBSA insurance coverage will cover the employee in each of the child’s homes. This would include Bureau of Worker’s Comp and Liability Insurance.
  • Is eligible for health, dental, vision and prescription insurance after 90 days of service.
  • Will receive short-term disability, long-term disability and accidental death & dismemberment insurance at no cost, after 90 days of service

Hours
Flexible 2nd Shift Schedule - Hours are negotiated with SBSA families with whom the OST is serving. Typically, OSTs work with clients Monday thru Friday between 4:30pm and 9:00pm, and some weekends. Weekly meetings with the Outreach Supervisor will be scheduled M-F between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Pay rate
