1:1 Intensive Behavioral Intervention

Step By Step Academy’s 1:1 intensive behavioral intervention center-based program provides individualized and evidence-based treatment based on the principles and procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis.

The program serves persons ages 2 – 12 and is unique to the State of Ohio, as each consumer receives full day, year round services.

The treatment plan is developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®), and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®) in conjunction with their Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals identified by the family, SBSA assessment team, and school district when applicable.

Initial assessment tools include the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills® (ABLLS®) and Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program® (VB-MAPP®). Additional assessment of executive functions, social skills, reading, math, theory of mind, and other skills are conducted as needed.

The program’s teaching strategies include Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Training (NET), Mix and Vary Methods, and teaching Across Verbal Operants.
