Step By Step Academy offers small group behavioral intervention utilizing the principles and procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis to bridge the gap between an intensive setting and the classroom environment.
This program serves consumers ages 3 – 11.
The treatment plan is developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®), and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®) in conjunction with their Individual Service Plan (ISP) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals identified by the family, school district, and SBSA assessment team.
Initial assessment tools include the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills® (ABLLS®) and Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program® (VB-MAPP®). Additional assessment of executive functions, social skills, reading, math, theory of mind, and other skills are conducted as needed.
The program’s teaching methodologies include Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Training (NET), Mix and Vary Methods and teaching Across Verbal Operants.
